How much do you spend on hosting?

I used shared hosting for quite a long time. And you sure get used to paying 10 bucks a month...

But my sites grew and I had to move over to a VPS .I am paying $150 now, and my server admin has told me that I need to move over to a dedicated server, and that will cost me at least $250.

How much do you spend on hosting? What percentage of your earnings go to your server?

I spend $150 for a vps too. I pay off hosting in about a 1/2 day of adsense. Less if I include my retail profits too. I don't consider it a major expense.

Fly on over to ev1servers.net and you can have a dedicated server for $100.00. I pay $150.00 a month there, with extra RAM.

It's not a major expense for me either, especially since my site can grow a lot with my current plan and I have 10 addon domains to use for my other sites.

    I pay $20/mo.

I pay $85/mo for a dedicated server through www.layeredtech.com and I've been really happy. I would suggest checking them out.

I spend $50 / mo for my shared reseller plan. I'll probably go to a VPS in a few months.

Just $60/month here as my sites are generally low visitors/high income.

I'm sure I could find the exact same plan on eBay or some other website for about $10/month, but I don't trust anyone but my current host and myself really. I don't like large companies as webhosts because you get treated as just a domain, and I don't like small companies/individuals because I don't trust them with sites which cost 10 times more than my car.

I also spend about 2-5 hours/month sorting stuff out with my host over MSN, if I screw something up, or if I need help with something, he's pretty much online 24/7 somehow. So I guess I pay for basic site support along with hosting.

I probably spend more than $60 on Paypal fees every month.

For me, hosting expenses are very small as compared to earnings. Main expenses are on promotion

    $69 a month at xlhosts.com for a dedicated server.

Keeps up fine with +2 million pageviews a month.

I pay $60 USD per month on hosting that gives me 40 dedicated IPs to host 40 domains and up to 500 subdomains, plenty of space, bandwidth etc ... one of my sites has nearly 2M page views a month with 11K visitors per day and I've still got plenty of room to grow.

I honestly wouldn't look on ebay.com for a hosting plan. I head straight over to www.webhostingtalk.com for reviews of any specific company. It's a great resource for anyone. I personally will probably never use shared hosting as long as I 'm in the industry of websites because I know how much more control I have with dedicated servers.

I pay $89/mo right now from www.layeredtech.com but we're looking at expanding to companies such as www.voxel.com or www.xilogix.com for a new server or two.

My old plan with www.site5.com was costing me about $16/mo and frankly, I got what I paid for. They're a great company, I was just in a great need to expand so I had full control over every aspect of my site and server. Write out what exactly you're looking for and either review it and pick a hosting plan with fits best for you or even submit here on DP for review. Depending on how much bandwidth and space you need, the plans will vary and the needs will vary.

I'm on shared now with lfchosting.com but I really need to move to VPS (which they currently don't offer). My sites have out grown my current set up. Do any of these companies that are being suggested offer Windows OS? My sites are .ASP based ecomm sites.

I'm currently using ixwebhosting if that's what you're asking. Of course if you are - I'd be happy to give you a referral link :D ... seriously though, they've been a good service for the price for me; I wish they had cpanel bells and whistles, but for no more than I'm doing right now, it's been a good fit for me.
