    We have an online file storage site, not like rapidshare.de, users sign up for a free 1000mb account and they can store their files for ever, access and share their files with friends. Also, users have their own page to publish their files if they wish.
    We also have a custom made windows software allowing users to upload files directly from their desktop, unlimited size files, and set automated back ups.

    We have around 29000 users till now, 4 months since we started and stored over 300,000 files on our servers.

    stats are as follows

    Hits per day: 220,000
    pages per day: 75000
    visits per day: 14000

    As for incoming, we make around $400/month on ads and paid subscriptions, ads are not enabled on all pages, we decided so to keep it clean.

    Any idea how much to ask for?

    on bandwidth we spend $2k/month as for servers we have 12 servers ( 120gigs each ) owned

    Wait a sec, are you making $400 after hosting expenses or before?

    $400-$2,000= -$1,600 loss/month

    I have a very large image hosting site, its profitable (10x ratio for revenue/hosting cost), but i know that its hard to make a buck by hosting vids. A single 700MB download costs as much as thousands of image views.

    BTW so hard that i dont know how its possible. Maybe youtube knows.
