I'm wondering what is a good pricing scheme for building web pages?
I'm mainly talking about simple, less than 10 page sites.
    Could anyone offer any advice?

I've been designing website for about 3 years on and off.

Personally, I do contract work so I base my price for a site like the one you're describing for about $500, but that's just me.
(Base your price on how many orders you are getting, how long it'll take you, and what sounds fair to you)

Totally depends on your portfolio and track record.

It depends on your experience, skill, the quality of your work, what you're willing to work for, who you're bidding, and your reputation.

Once you have your design business up, you can hit up scriptlance and rentacoder to get clients.

Anyway, best of luck to you!
