How much should I charge?

First off, American quote, not Indian or something else.

So I got a company, needs a site designed + logo designed.
Then needs it coded(about 6 pages) and then oscommerce to sell their products.

How much should I tell him for a quote?

Logo design could be expensive... depends on the skill of your designer.

For that e-commerce site, if you start the work from scratch, the minimum fee you should charge is $us 2,000. It takes two weeks for a coder to complete the site. (includes planning, talking to client, designing & covert to html, coding and testing)

Just remember, one month of work for a single coder is min $us 4,000

Yeah, I'd say $1500-$2500 would be good.

yeah i agree with Denverlaw, that is, if he is set on an american business, if you are competing with foreigners, then you will have to lower it

I don't know, $2,500 seems a little low. $3,000 would be the middle ground for me.

Use a formula of: Time * Hourly Rate Expected = Cost
Add any Expenses = Total Amount to Charge.

Be sure to take into account extra time for additional mockups and revisions.

I agree that 2500 USD sounds a bit low if it is 6 full pages of programming. Especially work for ecommerce sites tend to be a bit more expensive since a lot of security systems need to be in place. I would aim for somewhere like $3500 - $4000 for a good job.

I feel like 2500 is right... Maybe 3500+ if you were a well known designer..

I don't think you guys grasp how important it is to find programmers who can develop secure, functioning systems for c-commerce sites. You should always have high standards when it comes to this, so paying in the $2000's is too low in my opiniopn.

$4,000 is quite a lot of money but if you can deliver a good quality service then, it would justify the price. Plus, we are talking about U.S market here, so I think around $3,000 would be good.
