    Hello webmasters,

    I want to start selling templates, but I don't know how much to ask for. I want to be reasonable and not sell myself short. Here is an example of two of my scripts:
    1. https://farrisblog.farrisfahad.com/
    2. http://farrisdirectory.farrisfahad.com/
    I want to count the advertising cost because if I want to sell I need visitors.

    I was thinking $99

    Do you think it's fair?

    I am currently selling it for $15 but I am using a marketplace so I don't have to promote the script. Thus the low price.

    They're pretty plain. To better understand the price you need to show how customisable it is in the backend etc. Are there custom post types to manage the directory? shortcodes? spam detection for directory submissions etc?

    They're basic, but I think you can sell them for $50. You can command a higher price since you'd be selling it on your own website in a competition free zone (no marketplace competitors). If possible, search your rivals and see how much they're charging for similar looking scripts on their websites.

    Plain but clean!!! - I would suggest make it more impressive with banners and more stuff. Look at your competition and take ideas

    You think in the wrong direction.

    If you really want to earn good money from your creativity,
    then you should make yourself famous, and then the people
    will queue, in order to buy your creations at (almost) any price.

    But, when you are not famous, then
    nobody wants your creations at any price,
    and you are doomed to compete
    in the wrong direction.

    Thus, you should ask
    not how much to ask for,
    but how to make yourself famous.
