    Just a quick poll to see how much spam you've gotten in the last 30 days.

    I'm at 2324.

    I assumed with the introduction of CANSPAM that the total amount would decline. I've been wrong so far...

    Something around 2000 emails, 10 phone calls, and 3 faxes per day. I have a lot of websites that generate this spam, but this is typical.

    Weekends that I don't check my email become absolutely ridiculous. I have over 500 filters in my outlook and my servers all run spam assassin, and some other filtering programs.

    The funny thing is that most of the spam comes from whois databases.

    Are those damn spam emails from some company selling advertising.
    They are sent out with various names, various email addresses that do not exist, from various domains and isps.
    And sent to put whatever you want in front of:


    And there is nothing on that website to contact anyone, or to tell them to go to hell in a handbasket.

    I have had a gmail account since google started that service.
    Never used it, never advertised it, it is not shown on any websites, etc.
    I just signed up one day and that was it.
    And it gets from 1 to 2 thousand!!! spam emails a day!~
    And looking at the spam email one day, I discovered that at least 1/4 of it was from a gmail account!

    Thank god my host just added a sweet feature that got rid of all my spam. Its a feature that allows you to stamp an e-mail as spam, then the next time the same e-mail come from the same source ( even if it is a different e-mails address ) it would stop it dead on the spot.

    It has worked great so far for us.

    I get like 30+ spam daily on all the emails I use for work, and gmail, yahoo & hotmail I get much less like 5-6/day.. I think this is not a big amount.

    I delete spam everyday, I get around 200 spam mails daily, so for 30 days it would be close to 6000 mails i guess.

    I get 200 - 300 a day on my emails accounts although I recently set up to go through a mail foundary server and that has reduced this quite a lot.
