    The title says it all, and could someone please tell me what legal issues I need to know about owning a mmorpg website?

    I know that you have to be 18 to participate in google adwords and adsense :)

    well you have to be born thats all i know lol.
    Google adsense and adwords, and yahoo advertising etc are 18, so you are correct with that :).

    The legal age is 13 to share any information out, that's why forums make you agree that you are 13 or older or have your parent's permission.

    If it is stated anywhere I have never seen it it.

    Since the ownership is really a rental agreement. It is also a form of contract. That would lead me to think that the legal age is the same as the "legal age to contract".

    That would be 18 in the US.

    Having said that: I have had a checking account since I was 13 and and a CC since I was 17.

    In the US, it's 13+

    Everywhere else, it's a free world baby. :)

    To do business on the internet, usually 18+ because a child signing a contract means jack squat.

    It depends on what you want to do, and how professional you want your site to seem. If you want proper hosting and your own domain name you usually need to be 18, otherwise you will just have to get your parents to pay for that stuff on your behalf.

    In theory you have a right to free speech, but in practice you have to be able to take responsibility for what goes on on your site. So you might get some hosts, whether free or paid, who are understandably nervous about letting minors loose on their servers. There are various risks of sites getting hacked, legal issues like copyright infringement and libel, and so forth, that they have to worry about. So check their terms and conditions.

    I don't think there is any restrictions on age for owning a web site in Australia that I know of. Therefore, if you are a foetus I guess you could own a web site :D
