    Just read different forums and blogs . specially Seo forums. and blogs like SEOmoz, SEObook etc.
    try to find some free SEO video courses. it will be really helpful.

    No truer word spoken! SEO is always changing and evolving. What works today may not work tomorrow. A great SEO'er IMO is one that is able to adapt his skills and stay ahead with the latest SEO techniques.

    No one is really perfect at SEO but it takes trial and error as the others say. The best thing is just try to implement everything that you learn as quickly as possible and keep testing. Things change, so change with it. :)

    Practice makes perfect, as they say. But I am a big believer in nothing is ever perfect, everything can be improved.

    The best advice I can give is to never give up, split test things that you try and stick to what works for you. What works for others may not work for you. Everyday is a school day with SEO.

    For perfect SEO, you have to do,

    original content with good keyword search,
    link building includes blog commenting, forums posting, directory submission, article marketing, social bookmarking with manually(Dont use bots).

    Well to be nearly 100% perfect in SEO, you just need to practice, be patient and read lot of books, reviews, visit sites like SEOMoz, learn about other easy-to-execute tactics, and do smart work. Also as told by other fellow members, SEO is a case of trial and error where in you make a mistake and then learn from it. Do ensure proper keyword research, writing good and useful content, link building etc and never participate in any Black HAT SEO tactics like link exchange, using automated softwares, link farms etc. Better to be patient with your efforts rather than get penalised by Google.

    Start by reading blogs and joining forums in order to understand the main principles of SEO. There is on-site SEO and off-site SEO and there is a plethora of bloggers that explain the terminology and the actions to do. There are a couple of free training courses that you can join. You cab also read some documents of Google about Search engine optimization!
    It is a passionate world so enjoy :)
