How to become a professional photoshoper?

Practice more and more according to various tutorial. I think video tutorial is great for learning photoshop.

Use a professional Photoshop software, You learn from those who have experience in this forum and you practice more.

 

have to be a master of tools and tricks ...as many as possible.

 

There are a ton of tutorial online but you have to be willing to put in the time and work. I know people who love it and others who don't have the interest in learning it, because it does have a steep learning curve. If any program bores you you're unlikely to stick with it, so maybe it's not the right program for you. Just a thought

Recently, i have finished the tutorial videos about photoshop online, i know the basic functions of most of the tools, but still i don't know how to use them when dealing with a picture. And i have problems understanding layers.

Like a few other people have said, PSD Tuts is a great site. Also, you need to focus on three things to really be proficient in PS: (1) master masking and making selections, (2) master layer styles, (3) master blending options. These three things are the most useful parts of using PS and also can be the most difficult to get really good at. After you have those three things down then you can branch out and go through all of the tutorials.

 

Just keep on practice and check out the tutorials to learn new techniques

Practice makes perfect! Funny enough though, I work with graphic designers a lot and most of them dont use photoshop anymore. Most seem to use Fireworks, illustrator, in-design etc etc
