It looks like something done if Fireworks or Photoshop. Do you have either of those?

    Hello, Zaizen,

How about getting some trendy smooth gloss effect to your shapes, text and objects in Photoshop? It is basic, but valuable. Get it here ;)

Zaizen, if you make a shape like that, then use the brush tool to draw a giant circle like that, then ctrl+click the circle, and then you Select Inverse, and draw. AROUND the circle, on top of the shape, with white color.
Then you target the shapes layer by CTRL+Clicking it, then switch to the layer where you drew the things outside the circle by selecting inverse, and delete everything around the shape... You should have something like that :p

Haha very hard-to-understand description, but yeah...

couldnt include more stuff in just a single post, PM if you want better explanation

That's why you use layer styles! ;) (you can download some glass glossy layer styles completed off those photoshop resource sites)

Here's my stab at an explanation.

First create the shape. This one is a rectangle with an semicircle out of the bottom.

Next, select the left half of the shape and do a radial gradient fill from the left bottom corner to the center of the rectangle.

After that, same radial graident fill on the other half.

Finally, reduce the opacity and there you are.

You need inner glow, a gradient an a layer on top with maybe a screen blending...
    I made this:
