for example , if my website is selling digital whiteboard ,it is used in schools,colleges

Connect with your industries and people using social networking like facebook ,twitter.
There will be targeted visitors and more chance of conversion.

 

also create and join groups, fan pages, Communities and relevant forums for brand discussion.

i always think the essence for social networking is that you need to become real friends with people that you are engaging with. people are very aware of advertising these days so no hard selling for sure and try to think that there's always give and take in different interactions. i.e. listening and selling are both important.
