    I am getting around 5.5% to 6%. Not too impressive too.

    But here are some of the things that I read and is trying to implement onto my new site.

    Firstly the keywords in the page plays an important part. For example, you have a site that talks about car parts. Categorise your site properly. If that section is on car exhaust, keep the contents strictly to car exhaust. Do not add contents like suspension and audio, etc. When you do that, the ads that is being served by adsense will be focused on car exhaust. As such, the ads are much relevent to your content. People will be more likely to click as they are interested in car exhaust thus is reading your site and the ads are all about exhausts.

    Next thing is blending. Check out this site.

    Maybe you would like to keep these two points in mind and it should help alot.

    Use the fonts from the ads on your pages. Arial, 11 helps a lot.

    You get high click through ratios when your reader feels that they need to take action after reading your content. Think of it as entertaining the reader/browser and having ads that draw him to do more research or make a purchase. If you try to "trick" the individual into clicking on ads, they won't have a positive experience and will most likely not come back. Focus on your subscribers and readers, and adsense will do it part in drawing a high CTR.
