How to increase height only of a psd template

I have a simple question, how can I increase the height ONLY of any PSD? - I change it from image size but it increases the width too which I don't like in my case ...... I need to add some more things to my design and having less space, need more height and this design has many layers.

    Hope someone can help.

So you don't want to make everything larger you just want more space?

Well depends on what program you are using, with PSD I assume it's PhotoShop, so what you do is click one of the tabs at the top and find "Canvas Size", then just edit the height, you can also change whether the extra space appears at the top or the bottom by clicking the different areas on the diagram undeneath.

If you want everything larger then you have to edit Image Size instead of Canvas Size, and untick the relative box to ensure the width doesn't change, but i think you want to edit the Canvas Size from your description.

When you open up the "Image Size" box, make sure that the "constrain proportions" box is unchecked.

You can also change the canvas size (which would be better) - this won't change the size of the graphics, but it will increase the size of the page.

thanks for the help people, canvas size is what I was looking for. Although, I'll have to do a bit more work in this case but I am happy as I will not have to create a new design. Thanks.

I think if you click a layer, and press Ctrl + T (Free Transform), the height of the element is displayed, providing you have the window enabled.

Free Transform allows to resize a layer, simply press enter to exit it.

Switch from Navigator to Info panel and you will have very useful information there, including the dimensions of your selection area, which can be used for measuring. And you can use a Ruler tool too.
