The way social networking sites benefit me is that you first need traffic to your sites. I have Facebook share and like buttons on my site and it allows visitors to post to their Facebook wall for all their friends to see. Friends interested in the content will be curious and checkout the link and hopefully repeat the process.

 

To increase the traffic from social networking sites you first create your profile in the social networking sites. And then add your site URL to that profile, also add as many as users you can. Then just maintain your site with the quality and good content.

For me, among social networking websites : Facebook is way ahead of any other social networking websites say Linkedin, Myspace, 0rkut or hi5.

Among Social bookmarking websites : Stumble Upon performance in one word is Sweet!! It has got all the potential to give you upto 10000 visitors in 1 week, if your posting on stumbleupon is interesting. Digg or Delicious or Y!Buzz have never been useful to me (not sure about others!!)
