As a web hosting provider, it is your duty to provide a quality service to your customers. It's not just cheap web hosting that people are looking for. They're also looking for a quality, reliable service. This article will help you make your web hosting business a success. It will give you an insight into how to meet your customers' needs, and how you can make your service one that is globally recognised. Customer service is a crucial factor to making your business popular. People are inquisitive, they will ask questions. How would you answer them? Read this article to learn some all important tips and techniques about how to beat your competition out there.

Becoming a successful web host is not an easy task.

The majority of people are more willing to sign up to an expensive, well known, hosting provider than they are to pay a lot less to sign up to a relatively new one. Now why is that?

You would have thought that people would jump to the opportunity of receiving cheap web hosting, wouldn't you?

Well, it doesn't work like that. People aren't just looking for a cheap service. Why would they buy hosting with your company? Have you got a reputation? Any reviews they can read? Where's your proof that you can offer them the service you claim to be able to provide them with?

People need to be confident that the service they are paying for is reliable.

For example, put yourself in your customers' shoes. How would you feel if you bought a hosting package and your website suddenly went down? You tried to contact your hosting providers but received no response?

There you have it. You've not only wasted your money. You've also wasted all that time and effort you put into creating and marketing your site. And just as you're starting to get those all important visitors, your site goes down. You're left stranded with no option but to just start all over again. Imagine just how gutting that feels!

Now do you understand why offering cheap web hosting is not the key to achieving success?

Instead, try to concentrate more on providing that quality of service we've just talked about. Put together a team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable people and start providing your customers with the support they need. When you receive a support request from your customers, make sure you respond as quickly as possible. Answer their query as accurately as you can, and show your willingness to help.

And once you've answered their query, ask them if there is anything else you can help them with.

You might also find it useful to set up an online chat service. Visitors can open a live chat and talk directly to one of your support assistants. This will save them a lot of time as they don't have to send and receive emails. The quicker you are to assist your customers and the more supportive you are towards them, the quicker you will find that a reputation is starting to develop. People will start to talk amongst themselves, they will write reviews about you. They may even refer some more customers to you. Satisfy your customers and they will satisfy you.

You will also need to ensure that your service is reliable. Make sure that you constantly monitor your servers. Be quick to reboot them if they go down. Offer a free backup service to your customers. Whatever you do, make sure that you do not lose any of their files. Creating backups of your customers' files will make your life a lot easier if you ever run into serious server or hard drive problems. The quicker you get them back online, the better.

Monitoring your servers on a 24x7 basis isn't all that easy. You need to sleep. And paying staff might not be an option at this stage as you are probably new and therefore have a very small budget. That's fine because you don't need to be the one doing all the hard work. I'd advise you to sign up for an account with ipPatrol and pay them to monitor your servers. Their prices start from as little as 60p per month and for that price you can have them monitor your servers once every 60 minutes. If you'd like them to monitor a little more often then you can always pay them a little bit more. I'd recommend though that you start off with their cheapest tariff.

If you'd like to try before you buy, that's okay too. They offer a free one month trial. So why not try them out?

The best feature of ipPatrol, though, is that you can also generate HTML stats which you can post on your site. This will allow your customers to see for themselves exactly how reliable your service is. They will be able to see your uptime and downtime records, any outages (planned or unplanned) you may have had, and much more.

Providing your customers with proof of your service is an all important bonus. They will respect you a lot more if they can see that you are willing to let them see your service in action before they actually buy it. Hiding things like this from customers could lead them to think twice about hosting with you. Never leave them in the dark.

I hope that this advice has proved helpful to you.

All that matters to me, and most other people is that the site can stay up, and will stay up for as cheap as possible while having reliability (having existed for like 5 years+)

And another thing to consider is that when you are a web hosting provider and announcing it to a forum, you must have at least obviously related username with the web hosting company you are promoting. For at least we know that you are an authority of such service.

If you manage to give good uptime and provide your customers good support, they will start to spread the word about you, that is most important for me, to keep your customers satisfied :)

web hosting is same to other product, basically the major factor to keep your customer happy is quality, price and support.
