How can I stop...Iam an employ in a company where more than 100 employees computers are connected to net work. Iam okey with my directors and net work administrators if they are accessing my desktop without my concern. Not other peeping toms who thinks that they are very smart in computer technology...I will call these peeping guys are nothing but criminals with indicipline family background. I want to keep track of these indicipline culprits if they are accessing my computer. Is there any way to catch these guys the moment they are accessing my desktop.

I really frastruted and I don't know how to tackle them.

If it is Windows, go to Administrative Tools, you can find this in Control Panel. Check the Event Viewer's System log. I assume this would tell you if RDP was used. You could also disable the Remote Desktop Help Session Manager in the Services console. This assumes RDP was used to connect to your machine.

If you have something else like pcanywhere or if someone has your login information, then that would be something else.

    Thank you for the information?
In network how safe is our passwords that we use for different email accounts. Iam aware of a software which tracks and records letters/numbers of pressed keys on keyboard.

We have...policies are in place....still some bad elements use their destructive technical brains to break policies and read other's emails without being noticed by network administrators. If they access my desktop they can very well read my mails when I go through incoming mails and they can read my outgoing mails when I type/compose emails.

The admin for the mail server can read your email.

As for keyloggers, I suggest having a good anti-spyware app like Spybot - Search & Destroy installed and running it every week. You can also bring up task manager under processes and see what is running.

Legally the company is entitled to read anything on their network, so no privacy at work is a given.

It is better not to insult people in email and keep non-p.c. talk in the break room. US law: water cooler gossip is protected, as long as it does not inflict physical harm or make the work place bad for any one particular employee.

As I said in my previous mails..I have absolutely no problem with my company directors and network administrators...And I won't keep anything secret from them...My problem with my co- employees...and their curiousity about my mails and other activities on my desktop.

Any how you have been exchanging your views for last one and half hour. Thank you somuch...I gained some knowledge in this regard...Now I know how to take little bit of precautions.

Once again thanks for your active participation on my thread. Looking forward to read your upcoming postings on other subjects of the forums.

My point about the admin is that anyone who has admin status can read your email. Most fellow coworkers won't have this privilege unless they work for the IT group, but sometimes people change positions and they might still have rights to do this.

As for a firewall, if this is a company network, they probably won't like you too much installing a personal firewall unless its the one that comes with Windows.

I would recommend changing your passwords too, if you suspect someone.

Thanks wkd, I will ask my management to curtail this previlege if anyone other than authorised having this. If they can't provide proper security to my emails and other activities on my desktop I will submit my resignation. I want to live with good people. Not with peeping toms.

Any how this thread Iam dedicating to all peeping toms of the world.

Regards to participants of this thread who are kind enough to understand my problem and reacted accordingly by contibuting a part of their knowledge.
