How to make a ebook with live clickable links ?

Discussion in 'General Business' started by poseidon, Apr 2, 2007.

I am looking to make a ebook about my site with links back to my site as reference(no affiliate links).

Now if I create a pdf ebook the links are useless as the person can never click on them, he can at max type in address bar which is not very good for me.

How can I make links clickable ? I know pdf can make links clickable but I am looking to make a ebook in .exe or similar format where a person can click, if not copy, links :)

    Any suggestions ?

Why not just leave the ebook in PDF format?

you can make links live in pdf. if you typed your ebook in word, just make those links hyperlinks before converting to pdf.

I usually do my ebooks in PDF format, but have played with a ebook creator that puts them in exe format and basically those pages are like html so you should be able to create a link the same way you would on an html page.

    Cheers,

Write it with Ms Word, and then convert it to Pdf. There are many pdf converter freewares out there, you shouldn't have a problem finding a good one.

pdf is the crappyest format for an e-book. Why don't you just make the e-book html? It's much easier to read

have you thought about a flash version?
very easy to add links in that....if you've got the software?

also can be dressed up nicely with images/backgrounds/slideshows etc.
