How to make a glossary for websites?

Was going to add a glossary of related terms to my websites, but now do not know how to start.

Do most people manually pick the related terms one by one, write the description and add them to the websites? Or are there smarter and more time-saving ways to do the job?

Slava, for me it was a matter of selecting a limited number of words that I wanted to amplify on. Then I wrote a short paragraph on that word(s).

If I had a major section devoted to that term elsewhere on the site, I created a link to that section. An illustration may be seen at http://www.jimfeeney.org/pentecostalglossary.html

So, this is manual work and there are no free resources we may legally use for this purpose?

My work was manual, since I needed to write the definitions myself.

There may be automated software that others can recommend. Sorry I can't help there.

    this post reminds me...

I would like to have words/keywords underlined which on mouse over becomes a "?" and when clicked takes you to my glossary section.. It really looks great.

Can anyone help me with this one...
