How to make a site for price comparison

We have built a price comparison solution for Magento for one of our clients, took almost 6mths as it uses a completely separate backend maintenance solution for performance reasons. You will see it uses a custom URL solution for SEO and can update between 250,000 & 1million prices per day depending on the server.

Well, I created my own comparison engine from scratch and collecting information by running my own crawlers. I don't think there are standard scripts available for this as different websites will have their own webpage structures. I wonder if the merchants will take time to provide you with their datafeed, unless your site is already not an established one. Getting ready made datafeed makes life easy though....

I really dont understand these technical words.. please could anyone tell me how i can collect data for the very beginning of the website.. How to startup for collecting the data (product details, merchant details etc..).. Can i purchase it in a bulk from anywhere

 

it is quite difficult to compare each product price you need to create groups where can add all related things with same price and that is why same same ....

you want to use something like Price Tapestry for managing the feeds. I have found this solution incredibly easy and fun to use. I have many niche comparison sites that do very well in organic search and social media, the script is £200 but worth every penny, you'll save hundreds of hours messing with poor quality scripts until you see sense with price tapestry, I would recommend it 100%, support is also fantastic.
