How to make best use of forums?

I know i can get backlinks from forums submissions by adding signatures in forums. But most of the forums don't want from me to have direct link to any website in my signature. That is the violation of forum rules. So how can i make forums useful for me.
This is a big problem for me for last few weeks.

putting your own links on posts are considered spamming on most forums, for reasons of course.

building a good reputation always help.

If each of us write and explain some of his experiences, then forums will be the best learning tool.

Yes, that's a problem, there are many forums that prohibit putting any links in the signature. But there are also MANY MANY forums which allow putting links, banners and all kinds of crazy stuff in the signature. You only have to find them.

It's also true that by building some reputation on forums your profile gets more and more attention and publicity on those forums. And I know from personal experience that almost all forums allow you to put links to your websites on your profile (not signature, but profile). So by actually providing some value to the forums you gain credibility and respect and you can have the same or even better results with that. Not in terms of backlinks, but in terms of traffic and the quality of traffic.

For example, I am very active on certain weight loss forums. Only one of those forums allows links in signature. The other forums allow links only in your profile page. I've built quite a reputation on these forums and I've got no problems following the rules of each forum, getting a significant amount of traffic and even some link juice by the way.

Providing some genuine value to the market STILL works and will ALWAYS work.

Post quality content in all forums, have a signature link to your website. Most if not all forums will not allow you to link to affiliate offers like clickbank for example, so it's best just to link to your own blog or site. Make sure you read the rules because if you're new you can not post any links in your posts.

As someone who owns and runs a forum, this is how I see it...

Yes I do let users put links in their SIGS, But I keep an eye on the quality of the stuff they are posting,,
Spammy type posts are removed,, as are too many "Thank You" type posts...

The way I see is,, if they are posting good posts, the least I can do is let them do what they want with their SIGS...

And the more posts a user has, the more leaway they get...

Yes - this forum. You're allowed two links in your signature here.

    bhupindrverma,

You're right that forums are great places to build backlinks, but you're wrong about being able to directly link to your website in your signature. You absolutely can! Just check out my signature. It actually links to two different sections of my website.

In order to get the most out of forums, we'll start by setting up your profile. Give yourself a professional forum name, using either your full name or company name. Now add a picture of yourself (not your logo) as your avatar. This helps bring a personal touch to your posts. Who would you rather take information from, a person or a logo? Now create a signature that links to your website. Give a brief, one sentence description about what your website is about, so that viewers can get a glimpse of what niche you're in. There's probably some other basic information to fill out in your profile too, and it should really help viewers get to know you when they stumble across your profile.

Now that you have your profile setup, you're going to want to work on your posting. You should never spam forums. That's just obvious. Remember that you're going to get your traffic through your signature, not from random posts promoting your site, that will just get removed anyway. Post as often as you can, and make sure all of your posts are extremely helpful to everyone on the forum. You want to really try to reach out to them, because you're in the same niche and you can definitely help each other out. Provide them with nothing but helpful answers to their questions and start posts that provide helpful information that you haven't seen on the forum before. Your signature will take care of the rest.

What i would suggest is what many people do here , they put there website link in there location profile box, they usually make full use of there signiture by putting links , images , twitter urls etc. They tend to also put there website in there posts to give some sort of useful information if that makes any sense

    Earning high and good reputation,
giving valuable tips, information, and advices,
    earning trust to other members.
And most importantly, you could post your site as your signature to let others know what your site is

You can only put the links in your signature. Some forums may want you to refer them to an actual website first rather than just an affiliate link.
