How to make Shrinkwrap effect in GimpShop

    Having switched from pricey Phtoshop to Gimpshop for Mac OSX, I'm pretty happy overall.
    However, I do miss one Photoshop effect that I can't seem to find anywhere in GimpShop.
    In Photoshop, it is called the "Shrink-Wrapper effect" or "Plastic-wrap effect", I don't remember which. It makes everything shiny and, well, shrink-wrapped.
    GIMPShop has an option under View to Shrink Wrap...but that seems to be a viewer setting that doesn't affect the image. Or maybe I'm being dense and not selecting the right thing.
    What I would like to know is if anyone knows what this is called in GIMP, in case I'm just missing it...or if there is a plug-in that will do this.
