How to optimize for higher CTR in Mambo

Sorry for the long post lol

My site was recently featured on shoutwire and i recieved a fair amount of traffic from that. What i realised with this traffic was that my Adsense layout wasn't doing much good at all.

So, i was wondering, how could i get more from adsense with my site.

Here is a screenshot from my site
    [IMG]

The only ad unit i had was the skyscraper down the right hand side. And with roughly 14,000 impressions i had roughly 30 odd clicks (i find this to be very bad, since i have other sites that generate crazy CTRs but don't get any traffic).

Since then i have added a linkunit, and another banner ad along the top. I just recently moved the linkunit to the top, and added the pictures in my banner so they are above the adsense ads.

Is there anything else i can do to my site? Do you think i've gone too far with all the ads now?

Ai ai but you must realise that lads from shoutwire for instance are more likely to jsut view your page once and then leave and never come back.
    Not good sources for clicks.

Put a large rectangle on top of "Omega Mens 158,000 Watch" link, I am very sure that you will be seeing lots of difference in CTR.

In the content itself, I've seen this done before with an adsensebot

Yeah, i did have that, but with the width of the site, it nearly takes up the full middle column and looks too spammy...

Can't you use a smaller ad-unit and flow the copy text around it?

i think maybe an adlink, as i just tried the smallest (250x250) one i could really integrate into the content, and it looked far too big..

**edit ** just found the small rectangle, don't think i had seen that before, have integrated that into the content and i think it looks a bit better.. cheers for all the help.

    What you think?
