How to prevent spams in vbulletin 3.8

Hello dear friends
I have too many spams on my forum which is powered by vb.3.8

I tried too many ways but no one helped

would you please show me some ways to protect my forums from spam posts and spam users ?

There is lots ways to prevent spammers .. would you please be more exclusive ? do you wanna prevent the spams in the registration level or also in posting threads and posts ?

ok lets start with the registration level ...

the best way is to use Questions/Answers instead of built-in or reCaptcha .. try to set at least 20 questions with different kinds of questions ... here is an example :
What NY stands for ? A: New York ...

 

I have been inundated with spammers since uploading vBulletin 3.8 and it's disappointing there's no tools to combat it. I have yet to find a mod to prevent it either. Any tips?

Step 1 : try to set the verification method to Questions and Answers and set at least 20 of them based on my previous post....

Definitely yes. You must use those captcha methods. But by following the above mentioned methods you can get rid of this problem. I had suffered similar problem in my two forums built in phpbb and smf but both got rid of spammers after following these methods.

oh sorry but I am not so experienced in phpbb and SMF ,
this plugin is one of the best ones that I have ever seen : vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=201287

there will be no way for spammers to register on your forum if you have it installed.

 

May be you are correct. I have no experience with vBulletin as our other members are specialized with these scripts.
