How To Save a .GIF in RGB Mode - Resize issue

Discussion in 'Photoshop' started by Swordfish, Jul 10, 2007.

I have an icon on my website that I make available for use on my visitors websites.

But when they resize it gets distorted since it is in indexed color mode.

The only reason i am saving as a .gif is because i dont want a background color surronding the icon.

    Any help?

    Thanks

Not sure what you mean - it might help if you posted the icon? It gets distorted when it's resized in photoshop/imageready?

The problem is when people resize the icon they dont realize they have to switch from Indexed Color To RGB color otherwise it gets distorted...

I know how to do it just fine..

it is when other people do it, they don't know how to resize properly.

I guess I'll just save the icon in .jpg format for now...

I think you can't save .gif images in RGB.

But your users should change the mode of image from Indexed Colors to RGB in photoshop.

most dont have photoshop and they just resize it in the html code, causing the distorted look.
