How to send money to Croatia

Discussion in 'General Business' started by Will.Spencer, Jun 1, 2006.

So... I am trying to send money to a DP member in Croatia...

    Apparently PayPal doesn't support Croatia?

The recipient suggested http://www.moneybookers.com, but they suck. They can't seem to charge my VISA card and their web site is constantly broken. The <submit> button is now completely missing from the upload funds screen.

What is the best way to send money to Croatia?

Ikobo and Western Union seem to be your only options

MoneyBookers is actually a nice way to send/receive money in CE Europe. It always worked for me and the recipient can withdraw the money quite quickly. I'd suggest you give them more credit and give it another try.

I would give it another try, if they would put the <Submit> button back. It's gone in both Firefox and IE.

Try 2checkout if the person has that account. Its actually quick and fast because all the person needs to do is send the invoice, you just enter the details of yours with your CC and he is paid.

Check the "we are unable to process this card" part you are getting...

Is that card verified by MoneyBookers? When you add a new card on file they automatically debit it with a small amount which should appear on your bank statement. You then need to input that amount under "my account" to certify that you indeed own the card. Safety is never too much. I can definitely confirm that moneybooker's service is great. I've been using them since 2003, never had anything to complain about.

    Hello

I would also just like to confirm that moneybookers is usually a great service. Even as mostly a recipient I have had to go through the lenghty process of verifying my bank account to be able to transfer money directly there, but once that was done it all worked like a charm.

I'm sure it's the same situation here. As soon as they approve the card I think we can move on. Thank you Will for being so patient with it. Some would have already quit on it. :)

    Thanks
    Daniel

I just sent $90 to a DP member in the Ukraine via Western Union.

The fee was $20, but at least it worked.

I'm going to send another hate mail to moneybookers.com.

    I'm not patient, I'm stubborn. :D

Eh from my perspective 20 bucks is alot for a transfer fee. :\

Anyway, I hope you're not serious about sending "hate" mail to moneybookers. ;)

    Cheers

I know all about that! ;)

But yeah, it does work. I just transfered some $$ from my bank account into the MB account and then sent it on.

WU charges and arm and a leg....but it's cheaper if you actually go to a physical WU location.

$320.375 every 60 days? That's just almost useless!

But, because you guys say that these Moneybookers people are on the level, I felt safe using my ATM/VISA card. Moneybookers accepted this and the test charge went through fine. w00 h00! I can send money now! Right!?!?!? No.

Western Union is a good option - a bit expensive, but reliable

    We finally switched to Ikobo.

    It worked the first time.

The transaction fee was $7.88 and there was a one-time I-Kard Delivery fee of $9.95 for setting up a new account or some such nonsense.

Yes, it worked. :) Though the fee is kinda high. :\

At least it's a working alternative for moneybookers.

Use the same payment methods we accept--Western Union, bank wire, or epassporte.com

    I've used Ikobo.com previously without a problem.
