Use, please, ikobo.com. It's much better than PAyPal. In my opinion.

The problem with iKobo is that they have all sorts of fees such as for cash withdrawal, if I'm not wrong they have an anual fee as well. Too bad MoneyBookers didn't work for you on this one.

 

Moneybookers blocked that card because you entered wrong data and tryed more than once to make transactions. It's not their fault, its yours. As a safety measure for the "real" owner they blocked that card.

Monebookers is the best money transfer service in existance. Cheapest fees, highest security, wider coverage. They give class to paypal or western union by a large margin.

AND a HINT : you can transfer money from paypal to moneybookers for a negligeable fee. So PayPal->MoneyBookers->Client its 500% cheaper than Western UNion. But you learn something new everyday... even with Posts: 4,313

the question crops up all the time and yes, iKobo/western union/money bookers are really the only option you have to send money to countries where PayPal is not supported..

We employ 3/4 coders / programmers / designers for 1plus.net from ex-communist countries and we get money to them in one of two ways..

Method one: Pay them via scriptlance.com (which is web related and suited for our means, though im not sure yours)
Method two: I have created two extra accounts at my UK bank and, if the amount im paying to someone is a regular thing, I send them a bank atm card for the 2nd account. When weve finished doing our dealings, i ask them to send it back..

Maybe not 100% above board and It may seem an odd way to do things, but it works for me .. So long as I trust the other person (obviously)

 

Umm... NO.

I entered TWO cards -- both of which are MINE. They failed to communicate at all with my first card. They managed to take a test withdrawl from the second card -- and then failed to upload the actual funds.

This would be bad -- but it is much worse because Moneybookers customer service is effectively non-existant.

Obviously not. Western Union and Ikobo both work properly -- and that counts for a lot. In addition, Moneybookers customer support is amazingly pathetically awful. I'm still awaiting responses from them.

That option was not given on my account. Only a 3-5 day bank transfer or an instant (but non-working) credit card transfer with an extra 2.5% fee.

However, given my experience with Moneybookers -- I highly doubt that the PayPal transaction would have functioned anyway.

 

I really don't know why have things gone the way they did for you Will this time with moneybookers.com, but it seems that for most people it actually does work.

So I definitely wont say it's your fault.. more likely that you're unlucky or something, but considering the low fees and the fact that it worked for me, at least as a reciever, it will still be my number one choice. I will leave iKobo as only an alternative in case moneybookers doesn't work for someone else.

We'll see how it goes when I actually start sending money and buying stuff. Right now I'm just selling and recieving to cover my bills pretty much.

To me, for receiving, it is moneybookers. IKobo seems good too, but a bit more expensive, and I don't really know if anything else can really compare.

As for e-gold, that's cool, but you need to convert gold to money and I don't see that as a very simple way of doing things.. but I never tried sending/receiving anything with it so I can't tell much.

 

I've have no problems with moneybookers other than the high commissions they charge.

For cheap, but not quick, try sending money via Postal Money Order, using registered snail mail to add security:

High commissions? Eh some say their commissions are quite low and others say it's high. Whatever.

I don't consider them that high.

 

Many people complain after trying to register Moneybookers for paying.

I have account on it, but I only use a receiving money.
I think that is a best online payment send or receive option.
It is extremelly cheap , withdrawal funds is fast and with symbolic fees.

It seems that only registration is problem sometimes

 

Betfair.com is using moneybookers. Axill.com started to use them recently instead of PayPal. Give them some credit guys, will you?

 

Perhaps they just don't interface well with U.S. based financial institutions.

 

And now, a few words from Moneybookers -- finally.

As neither Wells Fargo nor Bank of America will deal with Moneybookers, they seem to have limited value for us in the states.

 

Well, there you go. It's not actually the first time that I hear about people from US having trouble with funding moneybookers. It is an UK company and apparently in better relations with Europe than US.

I wouldn't exclude USA being at the fault for this though.

It appears that at least one of my U.S. banks has now made peace with Moneybookers. I was able to deposit funds into my Moneybookers account this morning.

This will make it much easier to buy content and SEO services from Eastern Europe.

For some good news regarding this thread on my part, I have 2CO set and running too so those who can't pay over moneybookers can easily pay through that.

I still do prefer moneybookers though, it's faster and cheaper.
