Yes dear, Facebook is the good media for marketing.. create a good page for your facebook promotion and share your all friends

 

so, if I post links on higher rank fanpage, does it do any good for backlinking to my page? or is it more to no-follow?

 

As I known,facebook is nofollow now, but it's really make huge traffics, so you can make a fan page to bring some traffics from it, this is the only way for your promotion.

some great tips here.... I would echo the following tips:
Make sure you will out your info and sprinkle in some keyphrases and also make sure you take advantage of the url naming...

 

also, make sure you link from one place to another... create an experience for your users/followers/fans etc.... link from blog to facebook, facebook to blog etc.... do everything you can show Google that you have a buzz around our brand/website and that users of social networks are and want to engage with your content....
