How twitter is earning?

I was just eager to know the actual earnings model for twitter?

 

A twitter bird? abig one.. haha

 

I came to know that they have some sponsored tweet program, but don't know its true or false. If anyone used this sponsored tweet before please share your experience. I came to know this website: sponsoredtweets.com

 

yes i also have same the question, twitter don't have any ads,no sponsor. But the another thing is twitter is among top ten sites and having unlimited user's but no one really knows how they earn!!!

they are not going to place any advertisements but still they earn, how? here is the simple answer for the question. They will sponsor/promote the twitter accounts of companies/individuals/others (for those who want to increase their followup in the twitter). And, thousands of companies and individuals using that for increasing their followup as well as reaching out as many users possible. This is it!

They have an advertising system since day one which is extremely high priced.
They offer sponsored accounts, sponsored tweets and sponsored hash tags.

When I used them once they required a $5,000 minimum monthly commitment WITH ALSO a 3 month minimum commitment.

So every time you see a sponsored account, tweet or hash tag that is pretty much a minimum of $15,000 advertising campaign.
Also, at this point of time most verified accounts are not verified just due to the owner being "famous" now it is because they have opened an advertising campaign with Twitter which entitles account verification.


I know this info because I advertised with them once BUT you can also plainly see Twitter does offer advertising by clicking their advertising link on the site!

@retwedia, i guess you got that right, I for once applied for the business account to utilize the service however received no feedback which makes me wonder.. i know for one thing, they have been receiving hundreds of millions of investments, but i doubt their earning has ever returned the investment value.. Twitter is still a wonder.

 

I was replied to personally so I am sure they filter out applications by their own guidelines. When I applied my website ranked 65k on Alexa and it was also a Twitter integrated website, this may be why I got my response. I can say, after going forward with the campaign the results were nothing close to what I imagined.

They charged me $2-3 per action. An action being a follow, retweet, shoutout with hashtag, etc. I get more results using their free API and developing my own tools

What does amaze me about Twitter is Twitter itself. It handles so much abuse, I can't see how it runs as well as it does (although it is down a lot)
My app alone sends out around 50,000 tweets an hour. Now think about every user and every application together. Wow.
