I love HTML and used it for 10 years before starting to set up wordpress sites. Wordpress makes managing content so convenient and knowing HTML and CSS helps you customize your site. If you don't know HTML, set up a wordpress site but also practise making html pages too so you get good at it.

The problem with html only is that when your site grows to hundreds of pages like my original site did, making changes in design and layout, as well as content management becomes a big headache.

I think HTML gives us more options to organise our web pages in a nice manner.

If your website only contains profile and other static content, use HTML.
But if you would like to update your website regularly, use Wordpress.

wordpress is user friendly and more organized and as well as dynamic. you will be having a lot of options and plug ins. So if Wordpress has what you need you better use it instead of raw html coding.

I think Wordpress is far better than custom HTML. WordPress is the best CMS and you can cutomize it according to your need. Wordpress provides you better functionality on a website in short time with less efforts than custom HTML.

Google will not care if your page is an HTML document or a wordpress page. It all depends on what you put inside the document.

def try wordpress, because its a blog, it indexes much faster in google than plain html, and also there is a big open source community, and also a lot of plugins from which you can choose. I have been developing wordpress themes and plugins for a long time now ( http://sitemile.com ) and its been tested that wordpress its much SEO friendlier than plain html. Good luck with it!

Depends on the size of the site and all. If it's a huge site, I would definitely use WordPress. If it's a rather small site and I wouldn't have much on it, then definitely just HTML.
