I forgot how much work sucks.

Last April I went to Prague for my sisters wedding and spent a month there. When I got home I decided to take a year off and left my job. It was a pretty decent job, but I was still making someone else rich. Late summer I started up some websites hoping by the time my year is up I'll be making enough to no have to go back.

Well, the last few days a friends parents decided to open up an art store, they retired and closed an art store, in August and the inventory was cramming their house sothey leased a space 2 blocks from their old location.

Abyways, the friend asked if I could help them move and I promptly replied "NO!" but my wife said, come on honey, say yes, go buy some beer and I'll make you feel good. It's 3 days later and I feel like crap, I hurt, I'm grumpy, I've neglected my site and I've once again been reminded how much work sucks.

I'm guessing those few minutes your wife made you feel good weren't worth the few days you felt bad.

It's been about 20 months since I last worked for someone. I have to agree with you roman1, it's good to be working for yourself :)

The only time I seriously worked for someone was when I had to serve in the army.

And that's surely an much worse experience, so cheer up and be happy with your wife!

Some day I will be able to look back and say work sucks because I work for myself, but, as of now, my house and car payments keep me chained to this desk. :)

I'm freelance supposedly, but I've worked for the same client for the past 12 months. So that sucks a bit like having a job.

Although it isn't like having a job Mr Taxman, sir. No way. Not at all.

Real work does suck but my current job is a pretty good gig. Being a college prof would be perfect if it wasn't for those pesky students expecting me to grade their papers all the time...

I've been pretty lucky though that most of my professional career has not involved a straight-forward job (previous career was newspaper reporter). I don't think I'm cut out for that at all.
