    Hi folks,

I got a parcel in my name & i saw it in my table when i got up in the morning, already open by someone. I got shocked, was about to shout "Who did this?" because it was on my name.

But i want to know if it's normal to open parcels on other's name , by someone in the home?? Does it happen to you too ?

Only you (the owner) should open your parcel. If anyone else does, it should be with your permission.

Might have been opened in error
Someone might have been expecting a parcel, saw one had arrived and didn't take the time to check the recipient until it was opened and the contents weren't what they ordered.
Most of the time we have no interest in the other person's mail because most mail nowadays is just bills :)

If it's a family member; who cares? (well, granted, it could be a gift for that particular person, of course, which would've been a bit awkward), but yeah...

If it's a joint living space, then I would say "hell no".

But yeah, I've done this myself, granted, that was in an apartment building, where I received a couple packages in error, didn't understand why I'd gotten the content, and THEN checked the recepient - was for another apartment in the same building.

Hint: the package was sent from Columbia and had a *funny* smell to it. The package was marked "green tea" and passed customs but...;)

And seriously, if it's your family, why don't you just confront them? Dysfunctional family, ftw...

I don't have a wife yet, i think it should be either my dad or brother. I just wanted to know everyone else's concern regarding this, whether this is normal & i shouldn't get upset or it's normal for me to yell at them? I got a little upset because this has not happened in the recent past that i remember. I was shocked to see it opened, and i questioned myself, how come they open it while it has my name!!

Hmmm, someone opened the courier? How? With a knife? Did the courier bleed and leave a bloody mess for you to clean up? Is the courier still alive? What does the courier think about this? Did you call the police to report the attempted murder of the courier? Are you upset because you wanted to disembowel the courier yourself?
