I'd like to create a site similar to Vibe Magazine's http://www.vibe.com

I did a little research and ran accross joomla but i need to be sure i can have something easy to integrate ads into and something easy for editors/writers to publish content...

Drupal.. If you are looking into a magazine site. That is what I think I am reading Drupal can be adapted to fit your needs. Look at www.fastcompany.com their entire site is done on the Drupal platform. You can learn more about how it was done at drupal.org and search for fastcompany and read the article.

Drupal is more difficult to start off with then say wordpress or joomla but it has so much more possibility and clean flexibility.

I would use Wordpress. Joomla / Drupal, etc..control panels are so complicated and themselves require training. Wordpress can be mastered in a few days or less. :)
