I Hate It When...

Today I registered a few domain names, I only had one that was really good but the rest of them kind of go with the theme and so I decided to get them as well...

Turns out that that ONE AND ONLY SUPER FANTASTIC KILLER DOMAIN that I wanted is unavailable (registered in 1999) even though it showed as AVAILABLE at 3 different domain search sites, including GoDaddy.com!!!!!!!!

I got screwed. I DIDN'T get the domain I REALLY wanted but I did get the other "supporting" domains.

I'm pretty pissed... mostly because the domain I wanted would have been a real traffic puller.

I hate that crap. I found a single word domain "corporate.us" showing available on three different systems. So I thought it was my lucky day. I went ahead and registered it. When I got the domain info it was misspelled "coporate.us" I had double checked the spelling before I authroized. When I went back to reregister the correct domain I wanted it now said that it was not available and had been registered for many years. I was a little upset at that. I contacted the registrars about it and they said it was simply a glitch in their system and that they were sorry for the inconvenience. First and only time that has happened, but will never forget that one.

It's happened to me several times and I hate it.

The best name ever? "Printers.com" but I kinda felt that it MUST be a reporting problem...

This time the domain wasn't THAT good, but it was good, "bumsex.com" :D
Yes I know it's a little perverted but it's a good niche (please excuse the pun) and the type in traffic must be crazy!

I'm still pissed but I'm sure I'll cool off quickly...

You were going to make a site about bums having sex? Or was it a bum dating site you had in mind? ;)

No bums, no sex, no printers or accessories... :(

    A very sad day.

It happened to me as well a couple of times, seeing good 'available' domain names at nameboy to find out seconds later that they're already registered. But I kinda like the funny way your story sounds ;) No offence. After all, a good website it's not only the name. You can name your site smileybumshavingsex.com :) and put some great butt$ in there. You'll see profits roll in ;)

    I assume. ;)

Nameboy is not reliable at all. I nearly had multiple heart attack when they reported several 3 letters domains are available  All wrong. That's why now I open several whois sites when searching to buy new domain: my registrar's, whois.net, samspade.org. Just to be sure :D

I'm just going to give up searching for good domains. From now on, only terrible domain names that are guaranteed to be available! :)
