I have an idea.......

It was mentioned in another post by someone else, and we both came up with the idea of starting a website that allows you to post humorous pictures of yourself being a bum and hopefully attract serious traffic.

I was thinking of starting a site that is similar to a myspace type site except with a few more kicks to it. First of all, my site is basically going to allow viewers to submit pictures of themselves being bums. For every legitimate humorous picture submitted, the user will receive a small reward (a nickel or dime). Also, for every person that is referred by the user that successfully signs up for the site, 50 cents will be rewarded. In all essence, my site will "pay you to be a bum."

I am thinking with myspace bulletins this could provide for some HUGE marketing on adsense. I could promote my site and use a slogan such as "Proving the economical system wrong" since I will basically be paying my users to be bums and find other bums to join the site.

I think this could provide for some serious adsense revenue given all of the money-making schemes similar to it on the web. However, I have no knowledge whatsoever of designing a website and therefore need some assistance. Of course I would love to negotiate prices, and maybe even a lifetime cut of the money for helping. Again, I really like this idea and even have more plans for it that I do not want to reveal, but if someone could please contact me with coding experience I would love to be able to carry out this plan.

Thanks and hope to hear from someone.

This is certainly a good idea, specially if the traffic is from Myspace you can expect some amazing one and with integration of Google AdSense. The site should keep going.

    All the best!

I think you can go for a myspace script and customize it a bit to suit your needs. There are many such scripts for sale in DP sales thread itself.

Later you can use the myspace bulletins to promote your site.

Well... if you keep giving out so much detail about your project someone else might jump ahead and do it. Instead of asking what everyone else thinks just go ahead and do it, if it doesn't work move on to another project. I have had many ideas that ended up being a total waste of time, but I just forget about it and move on to the next one.

    Good luck

As from a business standpoint, you need to make sure you make more money than pay out in the end. Make sure people only post pictures that other people would be interested in looking at and that more people click on ads than post pictures. Also for ten cents someone would have to post lots and lots of pictures to make it worth a while. Certainly not enough to help them out of bummhood. You upload script would have to be super easy for people to like it. You also have to think of how you are going to pay people. Check in the mail? Requiring people to have pay pal accounts might deter them. Just some food for thought. But otherwise it does sound like a good idea, good luck.
