I need a CMS for images

I am trying to scan in some maps at work and need to be able to organize my images.

I am planning on just leaving the images as jpg, but I could also do pdf or whatever would be best to do the job.

The maps I am scanning in are about 20 - 30 years old and are parcel maps showing homes, streets, utilities, etc.

Basically what I want to do is scan in a map, add the street names as tags, and save it all in a database. By doing it this way I will then be able to back into the software and enter in a street name to pull up the appropriate maps.

I have used gallery software before for my own personal photos, but none of them really seem to fit what I want.

If this isn't something available already I am willing to pay to have it custom done.

I would really appreciate any help.

    Thank you,

    Brandon

    Hey, thanks for the link.

Out of all these have you used any or would you recommend on over the other for what I am doing?

    Thanks again,

    Brandon

    Jalbum looks interesting.

As for looking good, I'm not all that worried. My main concern is that it will pull up the images fast. I really don't need all the glitz that is part of a typical gallery site.

This CMS will only be on my localhost on one computer and won't be available online.

Thank you for you help so far.

    Thank you addlinkurl.

I decided to go with 4images. This seems to be pretty good and it does exactly what I want.

    Thanks again,

    Brandon

Well for future reference, Gallery by Menalto would work for what you need as well. I've been using Gallery for about a year now, and I love it! It's very easy to install, manage and use.

What about zenphoto? I've used that several times in the past and it's really simple to set up and organize a large collection of galleries. Free too!
