I need a CMS system to manage multiple sites

I have multiple sites and I need a centeralized management platform to control them all, and give clients limited access to make changes to each site.

Is there a content management system out there that will allow me to centrally manage many websites spread across multiple IPs?

 

Wordpress MU (Multi-User) might be able to do what you're looking for.
Infact actually i'm pretty sure it will.

 

yeah sounds like it would. My concern is if could it maintain sites spread out across multiple IPs... The sites are all on my server which has a whole c-block assigned to it, i want each of my clients sites to reside on an individual IP

 

Joomla Multisites can be installed on an existing website to convert it into a master website where multiple sites will be created.

It allows multiple sites to have their own joomla configuration file (db connection) using the same joomla! environment. In other words, JMS shares the same Joomla! files and folders on the disk (PHP code) but use specific DB connection to store the websites's specific contents.
