I need a professional host that can stop ddos attacks

I'm looking for a corporate web hosting company that would be able to stop all dos/ddos attacks, or any other kind of attack on my website.

I have no idea where to look for a host like this, everyone I've checked out hasn't been able to do anything to help me with this, and running my own server has been pretty useless seeing as how I know nothing about server security.

If someone knows of a company that would be able to deal with this, please post or PM me a link.

I'm not sure how much this would cost, but I'm willing to pay up to $4000/month.

you might want to check out www.webhostingtalk.com they have a great forum.

getting solicited from the hosts directly isn't always the best way to find them.

Yea - I would actually recommend Rackspace aswell....

You should be able to get a fully managed server for about 400 month - ballpark ;)

DDOS aint a simple thing to stop as there are many different forms, being a person ill admit who knows how to do it given past experiences and such i find that if they say its stoppable i just laugh....

DDOS is a way of directing packet traffic (like say your downloading a movie) to a specific host using allot of different connections (say .. bots or zombies which are infected ps) and targetting these to the host connection it will simply take it offline.... of course the connections doing the attack need to be greater than the one recieving..

Hell you can even dos attack of just a $1 shell in most cases , and you could always just use simple port flood techniques on the webserver which works...

So, you really need to think carefully! if they specifically say they can stop denial of service, ide like the evidence.

My client has server with Rackspace and I must say they are very costly, they pay around $650 a month for AMD 2.4 gig machine with hardware firewall..

I would recommend using ThePlanet.com, they have series, Total Control Servers, I think that might out :)

Dan, if you want to know how backbones defend against DDOS, check this link:

    http://www.nanog.org/mtg-0410/pdf/battles.pdf

Nanog meetings are very informative (I've been to one), but you have to wear your pocket protectors. Clue factor very very high.

Only way i stopped DDOS attacks was flooding it back o_o, got to fight fire with fire, but then again, this was in the past, but i hear good things about most datacenters these days.

Port flooding on apache u want to worry about, thats deadly.
