I need help getting started

Hi, I am currently a university student and due to extenuating circumstances I need to make money quickly (Loss of parent; need to take care of minor, that's as much as I can say.) I am currently working at a regular job, but with the workload I have, I am unable to make enough money.

I have been lurking around these forums for a few days reading a lot of things, and I think adsense would be the best way to go. However, I need direction; someone to show me a path of sorts. I know all the basic things like creating webpages (HTML, MySQL, PHP, Python, etc.), hosting, etc. I know as a concept what I need to do, however, I have no idea how to go about it. In a sense, I have the technical logic but I need to "business" logic. I don't know what kind of site to create, or even how to draw people to it. I would sincerely appreciate any help from anyone.

Even if you think adsense is the wrong path, I welcome any opinion. I just need to reach one goal: enough money to cover expenses.

However if you're going to tell me what a loser I am, please don't and just think it.

If you are considering adsense as your main revenue stream, signup for an adwords account and check on the bids for keywords. Make a site for keywords that payout more then usual, that you can tolerate writing for..

Also, use the overture tool to figure out the popularity of your sites topic / keywords to get an idea of how much traffic your sites topic will generate:

Thirdly I wouldn't depend on adsense solely for your income. With the right topic (especially if you plan on writing articles, blogging, etc.) consider joining an affiliate program. Check out CJ or LinkShare and see how they can work in with the topic you've chosen.

Next you'll want to post enough here to get a signiture (20 I think??) so that you at least have a backlink to start your site off with (and get google spidering you).

 

Don't sign up for some Adsense. I've seen that many DP users have been banned. It's probably just a matter of time before they ban you without a reason.

I advise you to try bidvertiser instead

 

well right now it appears you need to make fast money - my programmers may need help doing some php ... we currently have 1500 adsense sites.

You could work with them and learn at the same time! (I would pay you)

but if we cant work it out, a really good Idea is to offer your help in exchage for some help setting you up and mentoring you.

See I noticed the newbies that come in wanting help to learn are often all about them (not saying that is you) and themselves. It happens everyday.

I learned something that made a big difference come in here, find ways to help others and you will be shocked how many people will want to help you.

Even if you were to get a site up for adsense it would take you some time to get approved, get traffic and then wait to get paid.

I am SURE that there are a few ways to earn some money and I will take the time to show you and help you get started and even drive some traffic for you and set you up with hosting and some products to sell.

Your part of this topay for this help is to find 3 others in this forum who you can help with php html or one of your talents.

That is the beauty of this forum and I will do what I can to promote the spirit of people helping people !

First, I would say iBold advised you pretty clearly, just follow that. Second i would tend to agree with Notting question to latehorn.
Adssense does ban but i think not without a reason as I have close experience of their banning a friend of mine. Adsense is generally right when it bans and dont try to earn too fast by self clicks and in that case even bidvertiser may ban you too.
To my mind, apart from affiliate prog, pay rate of adsense is best and generating affiliate sales is not easy.

Lastly I would like to suggest you to select theme of your site on subject where you can contribute and do some justice. Choosing a high paying key word where you can not add a theme may not help

Make navigation simple and clear, content unique and rest assured it is only matter of time that you would do well

Fast money real quick? This is definitely not the way to do it. There is not such thing as fast money here. It takes hard work and a lot of time to establish a well founded website.

Taking this route is a low risk venture - low risk=low returns. On the extreme side of the scale you can get into forex trading - but that isn't for everyone. It is extremely high risk and if you don't know how to manage risk and money, you can lose your hat in minutes.

Perhaps, you can sell your professional services on the internet - like those outsourcing websites like elance.

Or even do a garage sale on eBay.

There is no way to make money quickly, unless you take a big risk and it happens to pay off - but even then you need a reasonable amount of money to start off with.
