I need help selling my website

Discussion in 'General Business' started by zl44, May 18, 2014.

Hi, I've decided to sell my website and move into a different area of business and use that money to help me out. It's a newer website that hasn't generated income but it has had several hundred visitors. I would just like some advice about selling it. Thanks!

I've looked at flippa but I was looking for help with the description and the site transfer. I would compensate for the help with those. Around 10% of sale price

Without any revenue generating, it would be difficult for you to get a decent deal. First concentrate on generating revenue only then think for selling the website.

very hard to sell a site without any income at all. If you see the sites listed in DP, sites with no income are always scoffed at. Even if you have spent alot of money on content and developing the site, you can expect to be hassled and low balled.
Traffic alone isnt important. I have brought sites that had decent traffic, only to discover that alot of sellers simply "buy" traffic, they can do it for months (to show a stable history) then when they sell it traffic stops completely.

I am not convinced that flippa is a good option any more. If you do want to look into flippa, have a look there for sites similar to yours. See if there are bids, and see if they are basic listings, or if they are premium listings. Also, check for completed sales, if final prices for similar sites are lower then what you are hoping for, then dont bother.

I suggest trying to meet DP's requirements and listing your site here.

How about selling advertising spaces on your sites? What is your web traffic? Hundreds/day or in total?

Flippa has a whole section of brand new sites without any income for sale so obviously I don't need income to sell it

You can post it for sale even here, but the only chance to sell a site with no revenue is also sell it with its good domain if your's such. Sites are so easy to create these days, that it's almost impossible to sell it without decent work done on promotion. And even then you scarcely get a refund even for a half of work you've put in.

from the looks of it you are selling the domain only, looks as though the hosting has not been paid, it's a good domain but lacks value as it's not that old, you have 4 external backlinks on there for sites that are up for sale, google ranking 0/10

do you have a demo of what the site could look like? or did look like?

even still, without any example of what the site is looking like, how can you sell anything other than the domain buddy?

I emailed the owner of the server just now and I'm waiting for a reply about the issue. The website was up last night when I posted this thread

if you have visitors try to add adsense. and check how income. then after 2 month you can sell it big price. or you can carry if you getting enough money from adsense. without any income no one take risk

If it's not hosted on a premium domain, nor generating any revenue, your best bet would be to list it on Flippa and hope that someone is looking for your type of traffic.

I wouldn't recommend selling it yet. Give it some time until it starts to generate revenue then it would be much easier to sell it.

This idea isn't finished yet, so making any money on this site will be minimal
