    Hi,
    please follow these steps:-
    1. firstly unlock background layer
    2. select all by using "ctrl+a"
    3.go to select->transform selection
    4. set width and height from 100 to 97%
    5. go to select->modify->smooth
    6. set pixel here (it must be not less then 3)
    7. go to select->inverse
    8. now delete inverse selected part(just press del button)

    Now you will get smooth curves

    My first job in web design/graphic design was to trace the outline of various objects in illustrator (before the trace option was available). It took ages at first but it is worth persevering with it because I can trace something in seconds now. There are some small differences between the Photoshop pen tool and the Illustrator pen tool so you might want to practice on the application you will use most.
