I need your help... CTR is getting worse.

For the last 3 months my CTR has been dropping. The biggest drop came after I changed the look of my site to make it more appealing and stylish... but as I get more visitors, my CTR continues to drop.

My overall earnings are slightly up, but that's because I have 4x more traffic. I need to make changes but I'm not sure where to start.

    the site: http://www.modernflat.com

In the nav menu I have 2 ad blocks... top of the right menu and after the category listings in the left menu.

On single posts, there is an ad block after the content (in between the content and the comments).

They kind of blend in, not totally but I'm afraid they are blending too much. Should I make them stand out more? I figure if people know they are there, maybe they'll click... any ideas.

I do plan on testing and trying new things but I really do appreciate any help you could give me, I'd like to spend more time earning than testing my lame ideas! ;)

    Pete.

It all looks kind of crowded to me. Might want to try re-organizing everything.

Place images with a border next to your adsense ads. It works great! And try to place them in "The Fold" of the website as well. (So it is one of the first things they see without having to scroll down)

Can i tell you that you are lucky? If your CTR drops you can always find ways to get it back up. If your eCPM drops all you can do is curse google smart pricing! :p

Heres my tip to increase your CTR:

Ads should be above first post IMO and fit in with the posts somehow...

Ads should also be above your categories menu.

Just what i would do, gl.

Thanks, that sounds pretty good. I can tell you that my eCPM is pretty good. It's about the same as always... Most of my traffic comes from repeat visits and links from similar sites so I imagine the visitor quality is good enough to keep the decent ads on my site.
