I'm not usually a hater of stupid celebrities, after all they're just sucking money out of even dumber people...

I guess I don't even really have a problem with her, minus the fact that her stupidity is so mind numbing, I have a problem with all the morons who are her fans

 

She's so incredibly uninteresting that she somehow becomes interesting. Pure schlock. What exactly did she do besides being rich and slutty to become this big media hype? It reminds me of when police arrested Hugh Grant for hiring a prostitute some years ago. Suddenly everyone knew him. The press started printing profiles on him (with headlines like "No more 'Hugh Who?'") and his career completely took off from there (in the States, at least). Years before that, Rob Lowe destroyed his career by doing nasties on video tape. And didn't Tanya Harding (of the SKATING SCANDAL oooohh!) also make a sex tape? Of course everyone wanted to see it while simultaneously pointing the "SLUT!" finger at her. But now pulling a "Rob Lowe" seems to hoist one's career. It's the thing to do. Hold a press conference in bed. Get in the 'zines as a slimy slut and the contracts pour out like Niagra. What changed? And why should anyone care about Paris Hilton?

It's a small world, I met her a couple of years ago here in Australia. She went to my next door neighbours daughters 13th bitrthday party. It was a promotional type thing, no one knew she was coming until she arrived.

No big deal just a normal quite type of person, pretty shy actually. She talked to the young girls most of the time.
Most people in Australia are pretty laid back, no one made a big deal of it and there were no bodygards or entourage, just her and a guy and a girlfriend and a publicity person.

 

This is something I can never understand... its like your really upset about it.

There is so much to learn about human behavior from examples like the Paris phenomenon.

Also religion is a great example but people get SOOO caught up in there own opinions they do not recognize the brilliant marketing techniques and strategies you can come away with (especially religion).

In fact by arguing or saying how stupid people are that like the celebrity in question you are only taking part (for free I might add) in the Paris Hilton marketing machine.

 

Dare I say I enjoyed 'The Simple Life'. She came off rather well I thought and for what it was and it was enjoyable to watch.

Quite a sweet girl underneath - you could tell she would get quite shy at times while Nicole was being bit more extrovert but she would go along with anything for the laugh of it.

Just a sweet girl having fun and doing her thing. She doesn't seem nasty. Yeah she's not that pretty and has a funny nose but the way she parodies herself you know she doesn't take herself or life too serious.

Good on her.

Quite the role model for young girls I'd say. She also comes across as very feminine - something lacking today which is the ultimate attraction for a bloke. Not this power-trip bitter guy-hating nonsense we see in a lot of young women today.

Paris is a breath of fresh air in my opinion.

I read she got flour bombed at the Brit Awards the other week, and instead of acting like an idiot (ala Tom Cruise style when he was squirted with water), she took it all in good spirit, had a brush down and carried on.

It hasn't been until recently when I've learned a lot about public relations that I've been able to take a step back and recognize how all of this stuff works. I've noticed how certain businesses bend over backwords to create some kind of controvery just so they can get front page news when an advocacy makes a big scene about it. Its a three way party, where the business gets publicity and customers, the advocacy group gets dontations and new members, and the news channel, newspaper, or magazine gets readers/viewers.

I think I caught a glimpse of how this worked when I was younger through listening to other people's opinions of popular musicians and MTV. It was almost as if there was some holy battle between good and evil with rock music. Ozzy Osbourne capitalized on it, Marilyn Manson did, and so many others have too. Every time someone complained they ended up in the headlines again.

As far as I'm concerned, let everyone get caught up in their own opinions!

Actually 99.99% people don't know anything about these celebrties. The media make there image and that's what they become.People never care about who exactly these celebrities are(why should they anyway ). Prince Charles and Camilla Parker can be taken as a example.

 

I saw someone in dublin once, i dunno if it was their birthday and I think it might have been weird asking for a photo with them

May have been more interesting if you saw someone with some sort of talent or skill. Paris ain't even decent looking.
