    A common tool people use to detect duplicate content is copyscape.com

    i use copyscape.com on some of my larger sites and its pretty good although not completely accurate when it comes down to partial matches

    if you are checking articles simply input a few sentences into google, it will show you if there are any exact matches floating around.

    Alexa! Copyscape is the easiest tool to use, I use it often. it even tell you the percentage of your article that is a duplicae.
