I want to make a Website of recipies. So which CMS will be good to make such website.

Most of you have seen Download.com software site. Is such Script available for Free?

I think the Script of Download.com can be used well for the Recipes website also. Do you know any such scripts available for free or a small price?

Please give me your suggestions and ideas also..

    PHP Script is preferable...

Go with JOOMLA and RAPID RECIPE component.
They are an awesome package and for very mere cost as well.
You can get a complete powerful Recipe management then. GO for it!! :)

It depends on the features you really need. You can build this kind of site using Subrion cms. It can be easily customized for your needs

Very easy and free cms for smaller websites is Zimplit. With Zimplit you can edit your page right at site, no admin area, so it´s very easy for you to add recipies to your site. If you want your own domain for example yourdomainname.com/org then it will cost you some money, and also you need hosting. There are many hosting providers around and Zimplit provide hosting too only for 1€ per month. Demo and manuals are available at Zimplits homepage.

Jeepers, no one's mentioned Wordpress yet for a change!

Ususally these ubiquitous "best CMS For.." threads get multiple answers from the Wordpress zombies. :)

Though, to be fair, I nearly always say Joomla for everything, and wont say anything different for this one either.

You could also use phpld - especially the articles - to post recipes to a page - just an idea

Like WebHostinBucket mentioned it almost most of the available CMS can do this. It depends on your needs.

I favor Drupal for most Sites because i know it best and it is easy extensible, has a good architecture, is the most secure and has a lot of modules ready to implement. It is also better for programming because it has a nice API and can also be used as a Framework.

Thanks a Lot for your suggestions.. SO most of the CMS can do it for me.. But if I need more specific features, I must check for such specific features..

So most of the people are suggesting me to use either Joomla or Drupal.. Ok.. I will try Both Joomla and Drupal... I have checked the PHP Link Directory and It suits to make the directory of the contents...

I have checked the site ifood,tv (Joomla) and other site using Subrion and some other recipe script.. Joomla's Food Extensions are really Good..

Is there any method that I can use a CMS which does not need a MySQL Database ?????

    Please give me the suggestions..

    Go for Drupal/Joomla.
This is the best CMS available now and easy to handle for non-tech users.
