I want to set up something online. (I'm completely new)

As the titled stated, I'm completely new to this, and need alot of advice on this. Basically this is what I want to do:

I would like to set up a website (register domain, set it all up, the normal thing) and I want to earn from it.
From the hours of reading and research I noticed that a good start would be to do this via affiliate programs such as clickback.

So, look at me as a person starting from scratch, zero.. what do I do?

First.. get a domain name ... you can use Virtuanic for domain registration.

 

Do you know anything about making sites ? promoting ? seo ?
I guess not so you first start to learn

Olso a blog (as hobby) will help you test your knowledge this domain testing is king that's how you learn the best ...

I suggest blogger.com. Ultimately, you can advance to wordpress.

 

First thing I would do is go to godaddy.com and search for a real good domain name. you can enter a key word and they will give you suggestions of domain name and also if they are available, or you can check and see if they have something that you want also. you can get the hosting from them also.
A Domain name is the most important. Then sign up with google adsense
and then start posting for links after your site has went on line. This will take some time to build, but it will pay off in a few months.

if you want to make money, learn about marketing on the net and how to get more visitor. about program and site hire a coder or programmer to do works for you. ^^

 

If you have already done some research, then this is how I would start

1.) Decide what products or services you are going to affiliate yourself with.

2.) Layout a plan of how you are going to market these products/services online. (research how others are marketing these very same products or services and do it better - be creative)

3.) Choose a domain name

4.) Find some reliable and affordable hosting

5.) Put together your website (hire a designer, design yourself..whatever)

6.) Implement your plan, learn as you go along, stay active in forums such as this and ask lots of questions.

7.) Never give up

 

What you need to do is make sure your domain name is good and will be good at BRANDING your site. That is KEY! To any start of a website you also want to work with something you enjoy because that will help alot more if you have passion in your work.

Welcome to the world of webmastering (and digitalpoint). These guys basically covered it all. Do you have any idea what kind of site you'd like to start up?

You mentioned starting out with clickbank. From my experience I have noticed that Google Adsense is a lot easier to make a return on, so you might want to go with that.

 

i would say try something unique, domains, clickbank is very common now.

Yes affiliates are good. Less design work, less maintenance and can be put on auto pilot.

 

for a start try to use blogger.com first. learn some seo to promote it then think of something big.
