I want to start a blog ..Which category blogs gets good traffic & income.

In general food blogs, music blogs and travel blogs do well. If you want to research about blogging and traffic you could start with searching for what type of blogs that get most Google searches. You can find much statistics out there. But just as @sarahk says, it all depends on skill, expertise and passion. If you for example don't know anything about food, then you shouldn't expect that you would get much traffic to your food blog. Knowledge is important if you want to be able to create quality content. Because in the end, it's quality posts that will give you traffic.

 

It's more....whats your passion in writing. Is health, tech, cooking related article.

 

I tell you its best to choose a passion because if you have one you will write quality content ,etc .This its what its make you succesful in terms of ranks and helping people .Too many people think in terms of profitable niches and this its a big mistake .You must think in terms of adding value

 

Keep in mind, however, if a niche is extremely popular then everyone is already blogging about it. So, yours will be just another blog among 10 million other blogs. It's been said a million times before: Unique, well-written content is what can/will give you a real exposure. Anything else will be just another blog nobody will ever see or read. And lastly, even unique, well-written content will need some help (i.e. advertising).

 

If you want to start a blog don't go for whats profitable, instead go for what interests you.
Believe me it'll be easier for you to optimize a blog if it something you are familiar or passionate about.

 

There is no specific category that could get good traffic and income. If writing is your passion, if you are sure that you can offer high-quality original content that could educate your readers on a certain topic, then, with hard and constant work, your blog will be a success. Category has nothing to do with it. If your only motivation is income and getting traffic fast, I’m afraid that you’ll lose the motivation pretty fast, if you don’t see the results right away.
