Idea for new blog-keywords?

    I have idea for a new micro niche site, but I'm not sure should I start it. Topic is something that happened recently in my life, so I have a lot to write about it.

    Google's keyword tool shows 50 000 searches, and Google searched in quotes. - 300 000 results. To much results, I thought.

    Then I checked few first sites in yahoo site explorer and saw that they have no more that 100 backlinks. It's easy to beat that.

    So is it good idea to go for this niche? Is original content plus 1000 backlinks enough to get traffic here?

    No,I don't want that. I'm just asking techincly is this good niche?
    So, If google shows 300 k results and the best has only 100 backlinks, is that good choice?
    I can easily build 10 k backlinks...

    I think its a good niche since you sure that you could create a lot of content related to your niche and build 100 backlinks, I think what you have now is enough to fight (competition in SERP)...

    You have to know your target. then you can use google key word tools to decise how much traffic a key word have and make a decision.

    How much searches should keyword have to be worth using?
    If 50 k searches isn't enough, I'm a little worried, cause I don't know how to find better

    Yes, I would start a blog on that niche. Especially since you have a lot of what will be 'original' content. It does not hurt to have multiple blogs in different niches. Add your amazon plugins and the like.
