If I hire someone on Fiver to do cover design for me, should I give him my book title?

Or can I just let him do the cover and back cover, and then put in the title and back cover words myself?

You have to send him the title of the
ecover and if possible how you want
the ecover to look like e.g. the color,
    text, images if necessary. It's
important to do this because you don't want
to get an ecover title how to stop dog biting,
instead of how to groom your dog.

Hope you understand what I'm trying to say here.

It wouldn't be a problem to give them the title, because your not giving him the content of eBook. Maybe the idea of the title, but not your content. Make sense? ;)

If you have registered the title as company and there is any registration related thing then there is no problem.... otherwise nothing can be said when it comes to privacy.. all kind of people can be found on internet.

    Yes!!
i would say you should provide him title because title can leads designer's efforts in right direction.
lets suppose if your title is about fashion and you not provide him, it is a possibility that you may get design something related to technology or machines, sports etc.

As much as I believe they would not cheat there customers so I suggest you to buy from someone who has high reputation at Fiverr.

    Uh Oh!!

If you give him the Title of your book I bet you $5 he writes the whole book, finds a publisher, releases it on Amazon, Becomes a #1 seller, and strikes up a movie deal which becomes the next blockbuster summer hit leading to a successful cult following franchise selling action figures and clothing apparel... God.. I don't even want to think about the possibility of a major video game release...........just have him do the art work then fill in the title "Bobs Fun Adventure" yourself..................

You have nothing to worry about :)

I agree with NetStar. The more information you give someone on Fiverr about what you want, the better product you will get. It would take too much effort to scam people in the way you seem to be worried about.

I used to do a lot of writing gigs on Fiverr, and it was frustrating when a client would give me little to no information. They'd give me one word, I'd write the article, and then they'd explain that it wasn't what they wanted. Just tell them what you want exactly from the beginning so they can provide you with a quality product as fast as possible.

    Best of luck!
