If you are getting frustrated for not getting sales... here's what you are missing

    No, I'm not selling anything here :) This is one of those threads where I simply give my 2 nickels about my own experiences. I'm writing this now because even though I've 'known' this stuff for a long time, I kind of pondered it last evening over and over.

    Frustration is not because of lack of sales, it's because of you
    I believe most western guys don't realize this. Shrinks and zen monks in the east have realized that "expectations that are not met" cause "frustration". Lack of sales in itself does not cause frustration - it's how you handle it. I'm not saying to put your expectations so low that you don't get disappointed, I'm simply saying that frustration is caused by you - not because of sales.

    You gotta realize that getting frustrated is not going to help you get any more sales.

    Anyone of you who has read material in philosophy/religion/psychology/personal growth probably knew that alreaady. But anyway, I'm continuing. Perhaps somebody has not yet realized the following:

    Okay... what to do if you don't get frustrated - but still see no sales?
    Here's the thing: the next sale could be right behind the corner. You gotta have patience. I have read about this stuff, but I gradually have realized and experienced all this personally - and then it really starts to make sense.

    So - basically you need patience. Lots of it, or otherwise you kind of have a big problem. If you go selling something to others, receive dismal results - getting frustrated is not going to end. These forums are filled with ideas (and so is the rest of the world) and you can come up with new ideas and experiment something else. You can also simply continue improving your service and deal others with patience. It takes time to gain sales, but you never know if the next day you see more and more of them. One income generating resource where I am reports when new sales come, and even though I'm taking baby steps with it, it's fun to get emails telling me "you earned $$$ last night". It's fun to come to computer in the morning and see think "man... I was making bucks when I was sleeping".

    Okay, and here's what you might be missing besides patience:
    Those emails don't come to me every day... but this is where the patience comes in. You've probably heard million times words 'create value' so I'm not repeating them, but I am telling that you gotta have patience. You gotta try new ways of getting sales. And rather than concentrating on 'getting sales' I really recommend concentrating on 'giving something to others'. When you first 'give' the 'get' part naturally follows.

    Thinking & writing this inspired me, hopefully inspires you guys & girls as well.

    Very good point. Most people fail because they get frustrated. They think it should all come easy. Most successful people spend more time working than most people think or ever want to do.
