    1. If you were to dig a hole that went through the center of the earth and you jumped through, would you be falling or floating upwards?

If you were to dig a hole that went through the Centre of the earth and jump into it, you would be falling towards the Centre of the earth.

The idea of a "shortcut" through the earth's Centre is often called the "hypothetical hollow earth theory," but it's not supported by scientific evidence. The earth is not hollow but rather composed of layers of different materials and densities.

As you fall through the hole, you would be pulled by the earth's gravity, which acts on all objects in the earth's vicinity. The gravitational force is directed towards the Centre of the earth and would pull you in that direction. The acceleration due to gravity at the Earth's surface is about 9.8 m/s2, and as you fall deeper into the hole, this acceleration will increase as the distance from the Centre of the Earth decreases.

It's important to note that the hole would have to be drilled through the solid core and through the Earth's molten outer core, the solid inner core, and the various layers of the Earth's mantle and crust. Even if this were possible, it would be an extremely dangerous and unrealistic undertaking.
